I’m Jelle Langedijk (born June Sixth, 1999), a Mechanical Engineer working as an acoustic researcher and consultant at Level Acoustics and Vibration. In 2023 I graduated cum laude from the Dynamics and Control Group at the Eindhoven University of Technology on developing a novel simulation framework to solve (vibro-)acoustic phenomena on nonconforming polytopic grids leveraging the Interior Penalty Discontinuous Galerkin Method at Siemens DISW in Leuven.
I’m an GNU+Linux and FOSS aficionado and music-first audiophile. This all preferably with a freshly brewed V60 on the side.
Master Thesis. Supervised by Ines
Lopez Arteaga, Idoia
Cortes Garcia and Thijs van
Putten. Available here.
Keywords: Interior Penality Discontinuous Galerkin, Polytopic
Discontinuous Galerkin, (h, p-) Finite Element
Method, Vibro-Acoustics, Implicit Time Integration, Explicit Time
Integration.
Bachelor Thesis. Supervised by Erjen
Lefeber. Available here.
Keywords: Discrete-event simulations, Manufacturing Networks,
Python.
Obtained Masters degree cum laude (8.7/10). Internship and graduation project in collaboration with Siemens Digital Industries Software in Leuven, Belgium. Thesis on polytopic DG for (vibro-)acoustic phenomena available here.
Obtained Bachelors degree with great appreciation (7.6/10). Bachelor thesis on developing a discrete-event simulation framework for manufacturing networks, available here.
Completed the final exam Atheneum in the program Nature & Technology with favorable consequence. Graduated in the Dutch, English and French Language and Literature, Mathematics (B & D), Physics, Chemistry and Management and Organization (MO).
Working on a multitude of projects in the fields of acoustic and vibration measurements (+ post-processing), numerical analysis (FEM), acoustic computations, developing computational methods and software development.
Developed a novel simulation framework that solves practical (vibro-)acoustic phenomena on nonconforming polytopic grids in 2D and 3D using the Interior Penalty Discontinuous Galerkin Method. Implementations in MATLAB and Python. Graded 9.5/10. Thesis (titled: Meshless numerical methods for (vibro-)acoustic phenomena) publicly available here.
Worked on implementing a novel amplitude-phase formulation of the Helmholtz equation for frequency domain acoustics in a proprietary Siemens MATLAB codebase. Report is confidential. Graded 8.5/10.
Volunteered at the "Tafeltjesavond" event twice as alumni, where I helped high-school students by making their choice of follow-up education.
Worked as a car wash employee with many functions, like cashier, guiding cars in the automatic car wash, operating the car wash, damage reporting, cleaning and leading a team with full responsibility.
Worked as both a shop assistant as well as a stock clerk.
Participated in the Computational Acoustics track of the 2024 Autumn School Series on Acoustics. Courses in FDTD, FEM, BEM, ML and Open Research Software. Issued November 2024.
GPI for construction safety. Issued June 2024 by ExplainSafe. Expires Jun 2025.
VOL-VCA certificate for construction safety. Issued June 2024 by ArboCentrum. Expires Jun 2034.
